The incident took place around 2:24 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, when Bridgeport Police attempted a vehicle stop of Christopher Serrano, of Bridgeport, for not having a registration, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management.
After getting out of the vehicle, Serrano allegedly began to run away from officers while clutching his waistband. During the brief foot pursuit, two objects fell from his pants, Appleby said.

Officers retrieved a loaded firearm magazine and a phone discarded during the chase and while searching the vehicle found a small number of drugs, Appleby said.
Serrano was charged with:
- Driving without a registration
- Driving without insurance
- Possession of narcotics with intent
- Criminal trespass
- Interfering with an officer
- Resisting arrest
- Criminal possession of firearm ammo/weapon
He is being held on a $150,000 bond.
